Many people may have used fluoride when they were little and in school. Not only this, but some toothpastes have fluoride in them, so they may have gotten it that way too. But, does fluoride boost oral health? It seems so.

Not only should you use fluoride, but you should also ensure you brush and floss on a daily basis and always see a dentist when you are supposed to. Here is more information on how fluoride really does boost your oral health.

Bacteria Leaves Plaque Buildup

When you end up with bacteria in your mouth, you end up with plaque building up on your teeth. When this happens, the plaque feeds on the sugar in foods and drinks and turns it into acid that can erode the enamel on your teeth.

When this happens, you end up with cavities and if they are not treated properly, you will then have to deal with major oral surgery like root canals and getting your teeth pulled out.

How Does Fluoride Help?

Fluoride can help you because it shuts down the above process. When you use fluoride, you are adding an extra layer of protection to your mouth. How it does this, is that it stops the bacteria's ability to stick together which keeps it from forming plaque on your teeth.

Not only does it do this, but it also keeps sugar from converting into acid. Since it does all of this, it helps prevent cavities from forming and saves your teeth. Also, if fluoride is ingested helps children's teeth build the enamel needed to keep the teeth protected.

You can contact us for more information on fluoride treatments. We will provide you with any information you need for using fluoride to protect your teeth from a lifelong of problems that you will otherwise have if you do not protect them as early as possible.

Patient Testimonials.

Our patients come back to us because we truly care about the care you receieve. Here are some of the things our amazing patients have to say about us:
Dr. Courtney and her staff are super friendly and made me feel really comfortable. I had to get implants for two "baby" teeth i still had left b/c i never grew permanent teeth in their place. I had to be sedated for the operation and expected to be out of commission for a couples days and in a lot of pain the following week. However, that evening I felt surprisingly good with minimal pain.

Dr. Myers is the best. I have been a patient of his for about 5 years and every time I come he makes me feel super relaxed and at ease. I have had everything from a simple cleaning to crowns and everything is virtually painless afterwards. I would recommend him to any person who is seeking a great dentist and staff.
